Private lessons help you build a relationship with your practice and understand how to work with your own changing body and moods. Sessions respond to your needs, temperament, and goals. Yoga is a completely individual and subjective experience; public classes, by their nature, cannot be very personal. Private lessons provide personal attention and instruction at a time convenient for you.

Why

There are many reasons why you might want to take private lessons. Some are

  1. Private instruction is useful in developing a home practice and in learning to adapt group class postures to serve your individual needs.
  2. You feel uncomfortable being in a public class and want to take privates. In the future, you may choose to join the public class but for right now you want the personal attention and privacy that private lessons provide.
  3. You have a busy schedule and need classes that fit your exact schedule.
  4. You have a physical injury that requires special attention and instruction.
  5. You find a particular pose difficult or particular part of your body is tight and you want special attention for your challenge.

Or maybe you don't need a reason and just want privates. Whatever the reason, I look forward to seeing you on the mat.

Testimonials

"My first private yoga lesson experience have taught me how to do poses more effectively. I felt comfortable learning at my own phase important tips like breathing technique, correct ways to get into a pose and come out of it necessary for a better yoga practice. Andrew is very good at explaining what muscles to strengthen how and why and which to release in order to achieve desired result. Individual attention allowed me to ask as many questions as I had. Andrew also showed me the research poses which are very helpful when the body is not ready for a certain pose. It was definitely a very positive and useful experience for me."

"I'm new to yoga and was looking for a teacher to provide proper guidance and to motivate me to practice and practice regularly. That's when I approached Andrew for his one-to-one sessions - and am very glad I did! As a beginner student, I like his disciplined style but at the same time he lets me progress at my own pace. With his patient guidance I learned where I'm tight, restricted and imbalanced; this is immensely helpful as I work to go deeper and become comfortable with my practice. Definitely a positive learning experience!"
